About Level 1

Find out more about Bebop level 1 materials.

Bebop is a mid-level course for children learning English for the first time. It has been designed to nurture the whole child. Through songs, stories, movements, and games, the children will expand vocabulary, strengthen motor skills, practice critical thinking, develop self confidence, and find out about the wonderful world around them.

Bebop has eight funny and entertaining Storysongs featuring the Bebop Band (Eddie, Flo, Leo, and Susie). Set to music, these stories practice each unit's key vocabulary and shows it in a meaningful context.

Each unit also has an Action Song, which supports the children's language learning through the Total Physical Response approach. The Action Songs relax the children and give them the freedom to express themselves in a new language. Bebop's key vocabulary is also supported by American Sign Language. Teaching these signs along with the new words helps the children to retain the vocabulary more easily.
